The first big snowfall is here! It is really beautiful. This is one of the reasons I love the Midwest. Every season is beautiful, but winter - especially early on - is one of my favorites. It forces us all to slow down a little, and hopefully give some thought to things other than business, dollars and jobs. There is nothing better than lighting a fire in the fireplace and sitting back to watch the snow. A snifter of cognac helps set the mood too! Today we will be finishing up the Christmas decorating - at least that is the plan. We managed to get most of it done last weekend, and the tree is shimmering brightly in the corner. So far the cats (their first tree) have been well behaved (knock on wood).
